HALF A YEAR OLD

My oh my does time fly. Just 6 months ago Phesian was a tiny little 6lb baby needing us for everything. Now he's a little tiny man that puts everything in his mouth and really doesn't want our help. He's gotten his first tooth, gets into position to crawl, rolls over, bounces up and down, sticks his arms out for you to pick him up, and can almost sit up by himself. He's grown magically before our eyes --26 inches long and 21 lbs 8 oz. It honestly takes a village (family) to raise a child. Phesian spent a whole month with his Granny and got to visit his great granny, uncles, cousins, and his little sister. Even though we missed him so much I'm grateful he can recognize the faces and voices of the family that he's come from. During the holidays we can get so caught up in the gifts that we forget to reflect on what's really important. We thank God for each other, a healthy child, and family.

5 months!!

he's a rockin' and a rollin'

The little man is at it again! He rolled over last night! I was so excited that I "helped" him do it again. Everything is funny to him so I'm certain he'll be giggling and rolling at the same time now. Ahhh the infamous car seat--he's only 4 months and he just isn't feeling it. His elbows go out to the side and then he stretches his legs all the way out so he cant fit. I mean each and everytime not to mention he doesn't want to be strapped in either. Oh and I caught him sucking on his toes--like really into it. If I didnt know better I'd think he had some sauce on them. Phesian is holding his bottle a little more each day too. I love his little displays of independence soon he'll be eating that baby food all by himself.

4 MONTHS

A picture is worth a thousand words but seeing him in person is worth many more. Mr. Phesian is now 26 inches long and 17lbs 6oz. A little giant literally coming in at the 95th percentile for height and weight. He smiles at everyone and tries to get you to talk to him all day. He's an expert with mini push ups now but still hasn't rolled over. We're patiently waiting on that milestone but on another note he can scoot. He likes to go in reverse and gets half way under the couch and then out comes the screams...because the pamper and his butt won't let him go any further. It's amazing to see the pictures of him before and to look at how big he's gotten. Those little white specks on his gums at the bottom are soon coming to haunt all of us but, until then he continues to chew on those mini fingers.

I tried to make him go to sleep but he said No no no. Phesian is three and a half months now! He's drinking milk like a champ. I'm thinking we're gonna have to buy a dairy cow soon so he can sip endlessly and when he gets teeth for the beef. He can lift his head all the way up now while laying on his stomach, push his pacifier in his mouth with a little help and seems to talk for hours without interruption. So if you ever need someone to talk to feel free to call he likes to talk about it. He's a healthy (I mean a lil chunky), happy, smilin baby. Soon he'll be rolling and scooting! Watch out world!

12 weeks/ 3 months

I've got a giggly baby. Everything is super funny--Im starting to wonder if he thinks its our looks. :-) Phesian has decided everytime its time for him to sleep its also time to wiggle. (But I've been told a man will get comfortable when he gets comfortable) I swear he has ants in his pants! He does something new everyday. He's super strong and can push up on his legs. He's figured out that his hand goes into his mouth and sucks on it more than ever now. Oh how I love our little man even when he wakes up in the middle of the night to play and I really dont feel like it. We put on a 12 month onsie after he took his bath and he pretty much fits it. These few months have flown by and I'm diggin his little personality!

10 weeks

Awwwww our little man is 10 weeks now. My my has time flew! He got his shots a few days ago and it almost made me cry. On the other hand he coos, follows us with his eyes across the room, makes the funniest most serious faces you can ever imagine, and squirms all over the place. Weighing in at 14lbs 6 oz this kid is on his way to being the next heavy weight champion.

6 weeks

Im so fly in my batman PJ's!  Mr Phesian is now 6 weeks old. We are still learning each other and now I think he knows who mommy and daddy are. Sometimes I catch him smiling I cant wait to find out if those are happy smiles or if its because he has gas LOL. He still has his days and nights mixed up but thats slowly changing.  Excited to see what happens next.

I'm getting biGGER!

9lbs 5oz

One month and a couple of days old already? Wow! II'm amazed he gained 2lbs in about a 2 week time span but who am I kidding I'm amazed by everything he does. He's in the 90th percentile for his height considering he was 3 weeks early maybe he'll be a giant. So everyone asks, "How's motherhood treating you?" I must say its tiring but, I looooooove him so much it doesn't even matter. I've learned to do almost everything while holding him and now that I can make a bottle in a few seconds its even better. Its crazy how fast I've become at things to get him comfortable. 

On another note I've already lost every pound I gained during pregnancy and I haven't even had to exercise.

Look at our smiling baby boy! He's getting big pretty quickly and in about a week he'll be one month. Time sure does fly! He does something to make us smile every day and what I find most entertaining is when he opens his eyes just to make sure someone is still holding him. So this is what I've figured out so far....ready?

1. Keep the dirty diaper on until I'm fully prepared or there will be pee to pay!!
2. Sleep is not for me--only Phesian gets to sleep and whenever he wants
3. Poop comes in all colors
4. Baby's can drink water....like all by itself?
5. And last but not least he wants to sleep on his stomach no matter what the professionals say.

3 weeks later and he's finally here!!

May 28th @ 3am I went into labor! Ouuuuch it hurt like @#$/&. But, I got an epidural and a real quick c-section and at 6:58am Mr. Phesian Phoenix Bilbrey arrived. He weighed 6lbs 10oz and was 19.25 inches long. Its kind of surreal how every emotion can hit you all at once. I believe that day I felt them all from fear to amazement and even though he's already a week old I'm still in taking it all in.  God mixed a little bit of me, a little bit of Ian, a pinch of precious, a splash of love, tons of faith, eeveryones prayers and molded a beautiful little boy.

35 down and hopefully 5 more to go

Awww Mother's Day has come and gone and just like a kid born on the first of the year I'm passed the deadline to get my goodies! I thought that was kinda funny--but hey what's life without a sense of humor?  I still got some goodies and a huge diaper bag. Yaaay me. Now if I can just get up to fill it up.

#34 The home stretch

Somebody get the CRISCO in a few weeks we'll have a baby about to slide into this world!!

Sooo pretty good news today Mr. Phesian isn't breech he's decided to flip into position and hang out until the big day.  Belly is bigger, heart beat is super strong, and I can tell he's dropping lower each day. I thought I'd be more afraid to deliver but I've had a few practice contractions and even though its intense I think ill be ok. (Sayin that now haha) Hiccups are his new show off. Just out of no where I can feel them--he's getting great practice for those maturing lungs! Thatta boy!

As for me exhaustion and insomnia are my new obstacles. Those two don't go together because usually if you're exhausted that makes you sleep but since insomnia is also on the list it keeps me awake. Its amazing how the pregnant body works!  And how I'm so emotional for nothing at all. Ever watch a commercial and just start crying? Its borderline insanity I tell ya. Oh and ice ...gotta have it crushed, cubed, or just soft its my new obsession. I'm changing lives and I know it because Ian's gotta have it too.

Its the 2nd day of the beginning of my 8th month! I went to the doctor yesterday and I've made it a very long way! Just 12 weeks ago the outlook didn't look so great BUT today we have a baby on the way :). Not to mention people continue to bless us with more baby stuff everyday. So thankful to know that the village is coming together to welcome our baby. Its amazing how people just come up to me to touch my ever growing belly hmmmm kinda weird but i guess it comes with the territory.Believe it or not I can still see my feet --I just cant bend to reach them but I'm a waddler!

Now about these CRAMPs...they aren't so bad and I think its only because he's running outta room. He balls up and a cramp happens or if I eat or drink to fast bam another one! Poor kiddo. I've gained 17lbs since I've gotten pregnant. My doctor says its supposed to be a little higher but its not really a big deal. Well 2 weeks til the next appointment and one more sonogram. Super duper excited and so thankful for Medicaid lol. Its free!!

ShOwEreD with FuN

I wish I could think of a different form or way to say thank you for the shower that I was thrown this weekend. I had a lot of fun and got to hang out with people I hadn't seen in awhile. On top of that our baby was given so many things to start off his first few weeks and I get to share the memories :-)

31 weeks today!! 1 more month and my stitches come out. Getting ready for my stay in the hospital so we can meet our little man.  Feeling chubby? Lol I am.

Hmmmmmm....not a lot of new stuff happening this week. Just counting down days and getting excited about the baby shower!! I'm extremely tired these days. I can sleep for 12 hours and still be tired. This kiddo does what he wants for now flipping, kicking, punching, and sleeping whenever he pleases. Oh my goodness a few days ago I had this pain that would make anyone want to crawl out of their skin. If that's any piece of labor pain .....well umm yeah NO THANKS!! Other than that everything is great. Daddy bought us a crib, a dresser, and a shelf with drawers for his dream of me being organized.  We are now on the other side of the hill --just counting down the days.

week 27

I walk in and say,"What's up doc?", he responds with ,"You look casual." I start thinking about the hundreds of things that could mean. Either way I walk past him to the lab to get my glucose drink. Drink it as fast as I can because it tastes like a flat version of orange soda with extra sugar and then the hour wait begins.

Off to get my sonogram now. So Ian and I go into the dark room to watch our little Hollywood star on the black and white screen. His legs are crossed at the ankles and he appears to be tapping his foot. The sonogram tech says our baby has an attitude because he doesn't seem to want to participate today!  Then we see his mouth opening and closing as he swallows the fluid I drank earlier. Thank God we find out our baby is measuring perfect for his age.  And this sonogram showed that he has hair already.

Dr Cosentino comes in and tells me that I now have a cervix! Yaaay but I'm still on bedrest because gravity isn't on my side. Our babies heart rate is great.  Unfortunately I failed the glucose test but I have another one coming up. Maybe this time I will pass because gestational diabetes on top of everything else is gonna be a pain.

26 weeks

Look at that belly!!

Oooooh someone is heavy now...could it be the little man? I can already tell he'll be the kid who does all the entertaining when no one is looking. He kicks/punches me but as soon as I tell someone to touch my belly so they can feel he stops. Little kid big personality already. Soooo the bedrest thing had turned into Zena does it when its not a hassle.  However, my body speaks to me and BAM! the pain comes and makes me sit it on down. Its not easy but I have and will continue to make an effort. Week 6 of bedrest?! REALLY? Each day I get a little more excited to know that if he does come earlier than expected his chances of survival are that much greater.   So our theme sing this week is "I'm a survivor, I'm not gon' give up, I'm gonna make it!" -Destiny Child.  In 3 days ill be at the doctors office

week 23

Its week 23 and our little baby is still baking in there. Visiting any doctor always has concerned me but these pregnancy check ups whewww! It was my first appointment after being released from the hospital.   The sonogram was interesting. We saw all his body parts in detail. Its truly amazing to see him in action and he already weighs 1lb. Looks like this is going to be a huge baby!! However, my cervix is still relaxed which isn't a good thing but, the stitch is still holding everything together. My doctor said he planned to let me off bedrest at this appointment but he cant because my cervix is only measuring 1.4 cm. Oh well I guess. This experience is amazing but at the same time making me ask why over and over. I've never just wanted to run, jump, skate, or skip soooo bad.  At least the baby is okay and has the right measurements.  Only thing my doctor recommends besides bedrest is to drink more water sooooooo Ian's on water patrol.  Next appointment is March 18th.

22 Weeks

Everybody was kung fu fighting huhhhh! Our baby kicks and I mean like he has gotten something to prove. It's super exciting just to know he's doing his own thing at this point.  Somehow on Saturday I ended up at the hospital again but I didnt have to stay.

Guess who's 26?? Meeeeeee!!

On another note I know this is a test for me and a hard one but, Im continuing to pray and remember that God will give us the strength to go foward.

AT THE TOP OF THE HILL

20 Week Ultrasound


ITS A BOY! I saw his fingers and toes, he yawned, and he has a cute little nose.

While that news was exciting I now sit in the hospital. I went to get my sonogram and everything seemed to be going well THEN everything and everyone gets quiet. Tears start flowing down my face because  I KNOW SOMETHONG IS WRONG! My doctor tells me that I'm being admitted now. Hospitals especially the labor and delivery section when I'm not supposed to be in labor or delivering a baby this early scare me. Apparently the muscle that keeps the baby in is weak. I freaked out, burst into tears, and couldnt control myself. This is bar far the most scariest moment in my life. Bed rest it is. Please continue to keep us in your prayers.

Almost 1/2 tImE

Almost the beginning of the second half and it hits me....... I haven't bought anything zero zip nada! This definitely isn't the time to procrastinate at least thats what I keep telling myself. Think i'll start with pampers and wipes. The clothes that I have SOME HOW continue to keep shrinking ;-) too. Anyway 5 months seems like a long time but nahhh. Ive gained 10 beautiful pounds, my face slightly resembles a chipmunk with food in its cheeks but, our baby is healthy and thats all that matters. We've discussed baby names but somehow we haven't agreed on one just yet....Im almost sure this is a battle im going to lose!!  That's what my belly full of Bilbrey looks like from my point of view. Beautiful isn't it ♥

Another week has gone bye bye. :-)

 Let's see maybe I felt a tiny flutter but I'm not certain and if my little one did kick he/she hasn't done it again. But, daddy wears a size 15 and mommy a size 9 so I'm certain if nothing else our child will have FEET! Several people have given me books on what to expect, breastfeeding, and even one for picking names. Each day this journey becomes more of a reality and easier to adjust to.  I've been on a roller coaster of emotions this week but, I'm guessing thats all a part of this experience. Happy one minute and in the next crying while driving to my destinations. GOTTA LOVE THOSE HORMONES! On another note I' showing and glowing.

~17 WEeKs~

I'm getting closer to the halfway mark! Oh what a journey this has been.  Today Dr. Consentino did a routine check up and I got to hear the heartbeat.  He asked me if I could feel any movement yet (unfortunately no) but, as he listened to the heartbeat he said, "You may not feel it but, THAT CHILD IS MOVIN". He's a funny little old man and always full of surprises.  Still feeling nauseous but not as much as before. In 3 weeks we get to know what we are having. Will it be a boy? Will it be a girl? Anybody know if my nose gonna stop spreading bwahahaha!? Really though? Guess we'll get to start shopping pretty soon! 

~16 WeEks~

HaPpY NeW YeArS! Yesterday I turned 16 weeks!! Yaay my body is definately changing. I've noticed a few stretch marks here and there and the dark line on my belly is more noticeable. I haven't weighed myself but, I do know this CHICK is just a little bit THICK! I've noticed it's getting a little harder to catch my breath too and even harder to find a comfortable sleeping position. I can't say that I have any cravings yet but anything with spice is nice ...and the hotter the better! Next week I'll be heading to the doctor to get a check up. Hopefully (fingers crossed), I'll get an ultrasound and find out the sex!!  Only 24 more weeks to go BUT who's counting? ;-)
